A Journey to the Horizon (74 x 111 cm)

I was maybe four feet tall, a little more, a little less. We had just arrived at Playa Caracolito.

I approached the shore, little by little. I looked down and saw my feet covered by water. In the reflection, my orange swimsuit stood out. As my feet sank into the sand, I looked intently at the horizon—distant, still, and intriguing.

What's out there? I wondered. The water danced.

Boats came and went. A single promise in sight: movement.

A restless girl.

Now I understand, the horizon is never that far away. With the right boat, you can reach it, but you must learn to give it its due time.
